Hospitals have rules and they vary by unit, not by building. ICU, oncology, transplant and some post-surgical units frequently do not allow fresh flowers at all, because of infection risk or airflow. A large arrangement can also be genuinely unwelcome in a room with no surface to put it on.
So the first thing we ask is the hospital and the unit. We will check before we build, which means you do not pay for something that gets refused at the desk. If flowers are not allowed, we will say so and suggest sending to the home instead for when they are discharged — which is often the better timing anyway.
